Dean joined Jamestown to provide care for patients with musculoskeletal problems, joint pain, and sports injuries. Dean has been in practice since 1999, mostly in orthopedics but he also spent 2 years doing rheumatology and one-year doing nonsurgical spine care. He is from England originally, moving to the US in 1986. Dean has lived in Michigan, Kentucky, and Alabama prior to moving to Washington in 2006. Outside of work Dean spends most of his time with his family, his wife and two children. Dean’s wife is a veterinarian. Recreationally he is an avid soccer player and coach and enjoys working in the woods on his property.

In 2015 Sharla completed her degree in Medical Assisting at Peninsula College and since 2016 has been assisting Dean Short as his Certified Medical Assistant. Sharla was instrumental in helping Dean establish the very first Orthopedic practice of Jamestown Family Health Clinic and they love being part of the Jamestown community. The Olympic Peninsula has been her home for most of her life and her hobbies include, but are not limited to, hiking, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and riding motorcycles with her husband. She also dabbles in photography, painting and driftwood art.
